Twin Peaks Returning in 2016!

fennTwin Peaks is returning. “Dear Twitter friends … it is happening again,” Lynch tweeted on Monday with a trailer showing dead heroine Laura Palmer, the “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign, the Showtime logo and the date 2016.

The show will return for a nine-episode limited engagement to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its cancellation. Original writer Mark Frost will write all the episodes and co-creator David Lynch will direct all of them.

The show will offer “long-awaited answers for the series’ passionate fan base,” Showtime said. Original cast members included Kyle MacLachlan as FBI Agent Dale Cooper, Sherilyn Fenn, Lara Flynn Boyle and Joan Chen – with Lynch hoping previous cast members will return.

DID YOU KNOW? Laura Palmer’s homecoming photo that is used in the pilot episode and throughout the series is actor Sheryl Lee’s actual prom photo.

The original series aired on Channel Ten and is available on DVD.
