My France With Manu – Next Sunday on Seven

myfrancelogoMy France With Manu will premiere at 7.30pm next Sunday (April 6) on Seven.

The show sees Manu share with us Brittany’s amazing variety of seafood, its salt meadow lamb, its charcuteries, creperies, fromageries and cider.

This is old France; a myriad of villages interconnected by family and food traditions. Manu’s family story is no different. We begin in Nantes where he grew up. From there he visits his Mother who lives in the beautiful seaside village of Guidel – she is a great cook and inspiration for his first book of recipes.

He relives his apprenticeship served under his father at a workers’ restaurant. In the tiny village of Chalones-sur-Loire, he learns how to make his great-grandfather’s famous cake in the same patisserie where it was invented. He joins his much loved uncle at his village charcuterie to make sausages.

Manu cooks, eats and reminisces on his personal journey that takes us from Nantes along the coast to the Guérande marshes and Saint-Nazaire where he did his apprenticeship. He then heads north to the seafood coast of Saint-Malo and Cancale, down the Nantes-Brest Canal to Josselin.

My France with Manu airs Sunday April 6 on Seven at 6.30pm.
